Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Aug 23 2026: Jeddah Corniche Circuit is set to host the opening round of the 2026 Saudi Toyota Championship Time Attack from 27 to 29 August. The championship is held under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), the owner of the competition, managed by Bakhashab Motorsport and in partnership with Jameel Motorsport, the championship’s official partner.
The 2026 Saudi Toyota Championship Time Attack consists of three rounds, all taking place at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The second round will be held from 3 to 5 September, while the season will conclude with the third and final round from 15 to 17 October.
Faisal Alkabbani claimed the 2025 championship title after winning all three rounds and finishing the season at the top of the overall standings following the final round at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. This year’s three-round campaign is expected to deliver another closely contested season, with competitors facing the distinct challenges of the Time Attack format.
Time Attack is an individual competition held on a designated course within the circuit, where each competitor aims to complete the course in the fastest possible time while following the prescribed route and adhering to all safety regulations. The format places an emphasis on driving skill, precision and car control, with the final classification and winners determined by recorded times rather than starting positions or on-track overtaking.
The opening round’s program will feature three days of track activity. The first day, Thursday, 27 August, will include administrative checks and vehicle scrutineering. The second day will feature the mandatory drivers’ briefing and free practice sessions, with one session for each category. The round will conclude on 29 August with the first and second competitive runs, followed by the podium ceremony.
Time Attack competition in Saudi Arabia dates back to 2018, when its inaugural season was held at Reem International Circuit in Riyadh under the supervision of SAMF and with the support of what was then the General Sports Authority. The inaugural season featured three rounds, beginning in October and concluding in December of that year. The championship was also among the first domestic motorsport competitions in the Kingdom to feature official female participation in motor racing.
Following several years away from the calendar, Time Attack returned in 2022 as part of the Saudi Toyota Championship, marking a new chapter under the Saudi Toyota Championship Time Attack name.
The Saudi Toyota Championship Time Attack forms part of SAMF’s ongoing efforts to develop the Kingdom’s domestic motorsport ecosystem and provide an organized competitive environment where drivers can demonstrate their abilities and further develop their skills. The championship also supports the identification and development of Saudi talent, encouraging aspiring competitors to continue their progression in motorsport.
Through competitions such as Time Attack, SAMF continues to expand participation in motorsport and strengthen the sport’s presence across the Kingdom, reflecting the sector’s continued development and Saudi Arabia’s growing capabilities in organizing and hosting motorsport competitions to professional standards.
