Open Track Activities

Driver Safety Comes First

Before taking to the circuit, please ensure you and your vehicle meet the Open Track Day requirements.

These guidelines help provide a safe, enjoyable, and well-organised experience for every driver, allowing everyone to get the most from their time

  1. Driver Requirements Driver must be in possession of a full current road driving license or current competitions license. Drivers under the legal age must have a valid National C or higher competition license.
  2. Helmets are required. Open-Faced helmets are allowed unless your car doesn’t have a windscreen, in which case it must be a Closed-Face helmet. In the case of a convertible car, a Full-Face helmet is mandatory. Off road style motorcycle helmets are not permitted. Helmets can be hired at the circuit if you do not own one. Racing overalls are not required. However, drivers and passengers must wear long trousers and closed shoes
  3. (No sandals/shorts/thobes/high heels permitted) Arms and legs must be covered at all times if you are in an open-top car.
  4. All loose articles inside your car, including the trunk, must be removed. Ensure your indicators and brake lights are working correctly. A towing eye must be fitted to the front of the car prior to going on circuit. Ensure you have sufficient fuel, no fluid leaks, and check fluid levels and tyre pressures. It is highly recommended to use performance racing brake fluid. (The driver is responsible for ensuring the car is safe and suitable)
  5. Every driver must sign on at registration, collect a wristband, and attend the driver safety briefing. You must fully understand flag colors and meanings.
  6. The driver hereby acknowledges, with full awareness and without any claim of ignorance, that the insurance coverage of his vehicle does not cover driving on track. In the event that the vehicle sustains any damage – whether total or partial – the driver shall bear sole and full responsibility for such damage. The Saudi Motorsport Company, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation, and the Ministry of Sports shall bear no liability whatsoever, whether for damages incurred by the driver himself, his passengers, or his vehicle, resulting from the driver’s or any of his passengers’ use of the vehicle on the track.
  7. The driver undertakes to use the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and all its facilities in a prudent and responsible manner, in compliance with all applicable regulations, rules, and instructions, with due care to preserve the facilities and avoid causing any damage, whether intentional or through negligence. The driver shall bear full responsibility for any violation or damage arising therefrom, and the company reserves the right to claim appropriate compensation from the driver proportionate to the extent of the damage, should it occur – God forbid.
  8. Drivers are allowed to bring 2 passengers to the event at no cost, but must also sign on at registration to collect a wristband before being allowed on Circuit. Only one passenger is permitted in the car at any one time. The minimum age for passengers is 18 years old and proof of ID must be shown. Any additional passengers will be charged SAR 250
  9. Open Track Day are not competitive, so lap timing is not permitted. Any stoppages or delays on track due to incidents during driving sessions will not be refunded and session time will not be extended. Overtaking other cars is by invitation only (wait for the car in front to indicate the direction he will move over too). No overtaking through the corners.
  10. Fuel is not available on-site. Fuel stations are located outside the circuit premises, and it is the driver’s responsibility to refuel their vehicle prior to the start of the activity. If personal fuel containers are brought, they must be stored exclusively in the Garage or Paddock Area, and refueling within the pit lane is strictly prohibited. Jeddah Corniche Circuit, its owners, and operators bear no liability in the event of fuel depletion. The driver is required to exit the track immediately upon the fuel indicator showing low levels or when fuel is nearly depleted
  11. Car groups will be allocated by engine size/power. Jeddah Corniche Circuit will allocate Groups. Front window stickers will be given out upon registration with group letter/number on.
  12. Attending the driver’s briefing session is mandatory for both driver and passenger prior to signing the disclaimer and liability waiver, upon which a wristband will be issued that you will need to wear in order to be allowed on track. Entry to the circuit is strictly prohibited unless all briefing sessions have been completed and the instructions set forth by the circuit management have been duly followed.

Car Preparation

Before any vehicle is permitted access to the pits, paddock and race track, a cursory check for obvious faults may be carried out by an SMC appointed scrutineer to ensure the vehicle is of an acceptable standard. This inspection will cover the following:

  1. Vehicle must meet road worthy regulations. You must show proof of ownership of the vehicle being driven. The car must be of a safe standard with no leaks, front and rear lights working correctly, and rear brake lights must be functional. No single seaters, open wheel cars, SUV’s, pickup trucks, motorcycles, or trikes are allowed.
  2. Overall appearance of the car – looking for any loose or damaged body panels, cracked or pitted windscreens, excessive rust etc.
  3. Brakes – visual inspection of the brake disc (rotor) and brake pads – looking for excessive wear and general condition of the brake calipers and brake fluid level
  4. Tyres – visual inspection checking tread depth, integrity of side wall (no cracking/weathering), foreign objects imbedded in tyre (screws, nails etc.)
  5. Underbody – looking for any fluid leaks (engine oil, brake fluid, coolant and or water) as well as a loose or damaged exhaust

For any of the above listed reasons or if the vehicle is modified in an unprofessional or unsafe manner, the vehicle may be refused access without refund. For this reason, it is strongly advised that all participants have their vehicle serviced and prepared, prior to track use. Please note that on track, any vehicle will experience heavier braking events, higher temperatures and increased tyre wear in comparison to normal road use.
